LITIGATION EXPERIENCE - Successfully litigated employment cases in a variety of areas, including age, sex, race and national origin discrimination Also Litigated Whistle blower claims and discrimination claims under the Texas Labor Code; Reviewed and litigated vendor contracts for the cities of Irving and Dallas. Experienced federal court litigator including the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. Counseled and helped in the development of in-house policy and procedures on a variety of topics such as sexual harassment, Internet policy and progressive discipline. Spearheaded all phases of the litigation process from discovery to the trial itself. Have tried to conclusion jury trials in state and federal Courts resulting in seven years litigation experience.

FELONY PROSECUTOR - Felony litigator of Child Protective Services cases for the Collin County District Attorney's office; conducted parental termination trials, from placement of the child into protective custody up to the trial itself; Participated in mediation of said cases which resulted in successful settlements. Further, received training as a certified mediator in child protective service cases.

SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE - Supervisor of the litigation section for the City of Irving, Texas. Responsible for the development and management of the litigation section, including management of attorneys and support staff. Responsible for training attorneys and supervising the successful execution of all litigation cases. Conducted legal research and prepared legal opinions for the City Council, City Manager and department directors.

LITIGATION MANAGEMENT - Directed and monitored outside counsel to perform tasks associated with the progression and resolution of case files in a highly cost effective and efficient manner, including creation of budgets and risk assessments and making recommendations on engagement of outside counsel when necessary. Recommended modifications and/or updates to streamline and enhance the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the litigation management process and significantly reduced litigation expenditures for the City.

MEDIATION EXPERIENCE - Mediator of numerous contract and employment disputes involving extensive liability. Certified mediator in Family Law and Child Protective Service cases.

LAW SCHOOL TEACHING EXPERIENCE - Adjunct Professor of Law at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Constitutional Law, specializing in Employment Law.

Adjunct Professor of Law at Southern Methodist University School of Law in Trial Advocacy, specializing in the training of students in the practical application of the law in all phases of the trial process, from voir dire to closing arguments.
